Polynomial Function of the First Degree

A first degree polynomial function can be defined like this:

f(x) = ax + b

f(x) = ax + b

This demonstration is meant to show how the shape of the graph of this function depends upon the values of its coefficients a and b. Change these coefficients by clicking on the buttons near their values and notice how the this alters the form of the graph.

Usually, a first degree polynomial function is called a linear function.

The bounds of this graph are:

x minimum = -10.0 x maximum = 10.0
y minimum = -10.0 y maximum = 10.0
