Here we see an animation that shows the
relation between these two quantities:
- The slope of the v vs. t graph.
- The value of the acceleration.
Also, one can see the relation between
these two quantities:
- The slope of the x vs. t graph.
- The value of the velocity.
Comments:
- The constant value of the a vs. t
graph is equal to the constant slope of the v vs. t
graph.
- When the acceleration is constant and
positive, the slope of the v vs. t graph is constant
and positive. When the acceleration is constant and
negative, the slope of the v vs. t graph is constant
and negative.
- When the value of the velocity is
increasing with time, the slope of the x vs. t graph
is continually added to as time passes.
- When the value of the velocity is
decreasing with time, the slope of the x vs. t graph
is continually subtracted from as time passes.
